Facilities

Central Marin Fire Department operates four fire stations across Larkspur, Corte Madera, and Greenbrae. Each station plays a critical role in providing fire protection, emergency medical response, and all-hazard readiness for our communities. A recent assessment and master planning process has identified priorities for renovation, relocation, or replacement of aging facilities to meet modern standards of safety, accessibility, and performance.

Facilities Assessment Report

A comprehensive review of the condition, deficiencies, and recommendations for each of Central Marin Fire’s four stations.

  • Station 13: Marginally functional, lacks hot zone separation, limited storage, located in flood zone. Recommended for eventual relocation and rebuild.
  • Station 14: Built as a joint fire/police facility, inefficient layout, shallow apparatus bays. Recommended for full demolition and replacement.
  • Station 15: Historic structure from 1939, undersized apparatus bays, shared generator. Recommended for adaptive reuse as a community facility or museum.
  • Station 16: Newest station, moderate deficiencies in ADA compliance, subsidence, and contamination control. Suitable for renovation and extended use.
