As Marin residents, we all share responsibility to be prepared for wildfires. Wildfires are a natural part of our environment, and it’s imperative that we build our homes, maintain our landscapes, and prepare our families for the next major fire.
Corte Madera, CA, - May 1, 2019: As California expands efforts to prevent devastating wildfires, CAL FIRE announced on April 16 over $43 million in grants awarded to 66 local fire prevention projects across the state. In Marin county, FIRESafe MARIN was selected to receive $993,500 to help fund a $1.3 million project aimed at improving the safety of evacuation routes in seven central Marin communities.
Central Marin Fire Council is pleased to announce the official consolidation of the Corte Madera and Larkspur Fire Departments to the newly formed Central Marin Fire Authority. The Town of Corte Madera and the City of Larkspur have a long history of working collaboratively on projects and providing enhanced services to their residents. The strong partnership and well-established commitment to public safety has been embraced in Corte Madera and Larkspur dating back to the 1970’s.
